Correlating deformation events onshore and offshore in superimposed rift basins: The Lossiemouth Fault Zone, Inner Moray Firth Basin, Scotland

چکیده

The separation and characterisation of different deformation events in superimposed basins can be challenging due to the effects overprinting and/or fault reactivation, combined with a lack detailed geological or geophysical data. This paper shows how an onshore study enhanced using targeted interpretation contiguous structures offshore imaged by seismic reflection Two events, including evidence are recognised associated part Lossiemouth Fault Zone (LFZ), southern-central Inner Moray Firth Basin. basin is thought record history Permian Cenozoic deformation, but it difficult conclusively define age faulting reactivation. Kinematics of Transpressional Deformation Zones in the Urmia Fault Zone, Northwest Iran

Metamorphic and various intrusive rocks in the Urmia area are located in a transpressed active continental margin. These complexes in the Zagros orogen were deformed during an oblique convergence scenario between the Arabian and Sanandaj–Sirjan blocks in NW Iran. The Urmia area contains both NW-SE striking dextral strike-slip and SW verging NE dipping ductile reverse shear fabrics. Ductile shea...

Offshore/Onshore foundation programs: student perspective

This presentation reports on a study of the educational quality and cultural sensitivity of foundation programs operated by Australian universities. The initial phase of the project, that involved a literature review and interviews with coordinators, identified two key issues: the quality of education and cultural sensitivity. Quality of education included academic standards of offshore courses...

Rift basins and supradetachment basins: intracontinental extensional end-members

Two end-members characterize a continuum of continental extensional tectonism: rift settings and highly extended terrains. These different styles result in and are recorded by different extensional basins. Intracontinental rifts (e.g. East Africa, Lake Baikal) usually occur in thermally equilibrated crust of normal thickness. Rift settings commonly display alkali to tholeiitic magmatism, steepl...

Petroleum Systems of the Northwest Java Province, Java and Offshore Southeast Sumatra, Indonesia

Mature, synrift lacustrine shales of Eocene to Oligocene age and mature, late-rift coals and coaly shales of Oligocene to Miocene age are source rocks for oil and gas in two important petroleum systems of the onshore and offshore areas of the Northwest Java Basin. Biogenic gas and carbonate-sourced gas have also been identified. These hydrocarbons are trapped primarily in anticlines and fault b...

Antecedents and Performance Outcomes of Onshore and Offshore BPO

While firms increasingly utilize business process outsourcing (BPO) to manage operations and achieve strategic objectives, there is limited research on the implications for firms and consumers. This dissertation begins to address these implications by studying antecedents and performance outcomes of onshore and offshore BPO. The first chapter studies factors that enable firms to outsource busin...
